District 90 is seeking On-Call Substitute Teachers and Teacher Aides to cover for instructional staff who are absent or unavailable for normal classroom duties. With normal working hours of 7:50 a.m. -- 3:20 p.m., the District offers flexible scheduling of work days. Substitutes can work one day a week or up to 5 days a week for full or half days. The hourly pay is based on $130-$150 per day.
The qualifications for On-Call Substitutes Teachers and Teacher Aides vary based on the licenses held by applicants. Please click the link to review the specific qualifications and the process to secure the licenses. On-Call Substitutes must hold one of the following licenses:
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Substitute Teaching License (Bachelor’s degree required. Beginning Jan 2023, applicants enrolled in an Illinois-approved educator program may qualify for the substitute license with a minimum of 90 semesters hours of completed coursework)
- Short-term Substitute License (Associate’s degree or at least 60 college credit hours)
- Educator License with Stipulations
- Paraprofessional License (Associate’s degree required)
- Short-term Paraprofessional License (High School Diploma with 3 years to work towards obtaining a Paraprofessional license.)
