Board of Education Approves Return to School Plan

Board of Education Approves Return to School Plan

At the Special Board of Education meeting on July 27, the Board of Education approved the “Return to School” proposal that was originally outlined in a July 8 letter to families and later updated in a presentation to the Board of Education on July 20. The proposal provides for daily, in-person instruction for Lincoln and Willard Elementary students, and a hybrid in-person/remote learning model at Roosevelt Middle School. Barring subsequent changes in local/regional health conditions or revised guidance from public health agencies, this plan will be implemented at the beginning of the school year. The first day of student attendance is Thursday, August 27, 2020. Please click the link to review the July 20 Board of Education Presentation to learn more: Return to School Update.

District 90 will be providing a full-remote learning option for interested families in the 2020-21 school year, with more information to be released in the coming week. Now that the comprehensive “Return to School” plan has been approved, District administrators will continue to refine the essential details of the full-remote option so that families are able to make an informed decision about how the program may serve their needs. Information about this option will be sent to all families of K-8 students across the District.

Also, "Thank You" to those who were present at this Special Board of Education meeting. There were more than 380 individuals present in the Zoom meeting, and more than 60 public comments submitted for Board consideration.
