D90 Students Continue to Demonstrate High Levels of Achievement

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has released the 2019 Illinois School Report Cards, which are based on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) and other factors. The results indicate that students in District 90 schools continue to demonstrate strong academic performance. On average, District 90 students achieved levels of proficiency that were nearly double the state average. The overall scores for the District indicate that 69 percent of students met or exceeded proficiency in English/Language Arts (ELA), 63 percent met or exceeded proficiency in math, and 80 percent of middle school students met or exceeded proficiency in science. The results also indicate that there are opportunities for growth, especially with specific groups of students and in the realm of math.

While District 90 students continue to achieve at high levels, student growth percentiles only reflected moderate increases this year. These factors contributed to all three District 90 schools receiving “Commendable” ratings on the School Report Cards in 2019.
