The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has released District 90’s student performance scores for the 2017 Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessment. As the results indicate, District 90 students and schools continue to demonstrate consistently strong academic achievement. The overall scores for the District indicate that more than 63 percent (63.4%) of students met or exceeded proficiency in math and more than 73 percent (73.3%) met or exceeded proficiency in English/Language Arts (ELA). These results indicate that District 90 students achieved levels of proficiency that more than doubled the state average. PARCC assessment results for each school and the District are available on the District 90 website.
To learn more about the role and types of assessment used in the District, please plan to attend a Town Hall Forum on Tuesday, November 7 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Roosevelt Middle School. The topic for the Forum is Student Achievement and Standardized Assessment in District 90. Dr. Alison Hawley, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, will provide information about how students in District 90 performed on recent standardized assessments, with attention given to areas of relative strength and opportunities for growth.
