Board Goals
The 2020-25 Strategic Plan has been approved by the Board of Education. More than 40 District 90 stakeholders volunteered to participate in the planning process, including parents, staff, faculty, administrators, River Forest Education Association leadership, Board members, community members, our equity partner, and former students. The entire five-month process was again facilitated by the Consortium for Educational Change. This Strategic Plan revamps the District’s mission and vision, and establishes the goals that guide the District’s efforts. Strategic Plan Results – Final
District 90’s 2015-20 Strategic Plan has resulted in notable progress. Five Action Objective Teams have worked to implement programs and initiatives that bring the goals and objectives of the 2015-20 Strategic Plan to completion or support their continuation across multiple years. Here is a scorecard on the noteworthy results from the five Action Objective Teams, their goals, and the key initiatives that helped to implement those goals.
Assessment, Curriculum, and Instruction
To foster the growth of the whole child and challenge each child to excellence, the District will utilize best practices and evolving research to ensure all students have access to high quality educational programming, as characterized by (A) fully-articulated curriculum; (B) differentiated instruction, rooted in formal and informal assessment; and (C) appropriate interventions, supports and resources.
Community Involvement
Understanding its role as a partner to both families and the broader community, the District will foster engagement through open communication and active involvement.
Facilities
The District will develop, maintain, and utilize facilities to meet its identified needs in curriculum, services and programs consistent with its strong commitment to fiscal integrity.
Human Resources
Recognizing its commitment to academic excellence and fiscal responsibility, the District will recruit, develop and retain high-performing staff who foster individual student growth and achievement.
Technology
The District will strategically adopt, maintain and incorporate technology as a tool for 21st century learning and community engagement.
