Ms. Christine Gerges will serve as Interim Principal of Willard Elementary School starting on July 1, 2024.
Ms. Gerges has served as the shared Assistant Principal for Lincoln Elementary School and Willard Elementary School since 2019. As Assistant Principal, she built strong relationships with stakeholders and made numerous contributions to advancing student growth and achievement. Gerges contributed to the implementation of full-day Kindergarten, assisted with developing standards-based instructional practices and report cards, and helped establish the District’s Behavioral Threat Assessment protocols.
Previously, Ms. Gerges served as a second and third grade teacher at Willard. Over the course of thirteen years, she created inclusive classroom environments where students flourished academically and collaborated closely with grade level peers to improve instructional practices.
Ms. Gerges received her M.A. in Educational Administration from Concordia University Chicago, her M.A. in Special Education from the University of Illinois Chicago and her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
