Dr. Christine Trendel to serve as Director of Curriculum and Instruction starting July 2024

Superintendent Dr. Ed Condon announced the appointment of Dr. Christine Trendel as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for River Forest District 90 Schools, effective July 1, 2024.  Dr. Trendel was selected following an extensive search that included interviews with faculty, staff, Board members and community members.

Dr. Trendel brings robust expertise in curriculum and instruction and strong leadership skills to the role.  Currently, she serves as Principal of Jackson School at Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205, a role she has held for seven years.  As Principal, she supervised more than sixty faculty and staff members, participated in numerous curriculum initiatives, and implemented Professional Learning Communities to support teacher collaboration and rigorous student learning.   

Previously, she served as an Assistant Principal, District Curriculum Specialist, K-8 Instructional Coach, and Classroom Teacher in Naperville School District 203 and Arlington Heights School District 25.  

Dr. Trendel earned her Doctorate in Education and Superintendent Endorsement from Northern Illinois University.  She holds a Masters of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.  Her BA is from the University of Illinois-Champaign.
