Bystander Training to Stop Anti-Asian/American and Xenophobic Harassment

Recent news reports about anti-Asian racism and violence from Georgia, California, and the Chicago-metro region remind us that racial hostility and prejudice take many forms. The most recent incident of race-based hatred occurred with the massacre of eight people in Atlanta, including six Asian American women. While the D90 school community condemns all forms of discrimination and racism, it can sometimes feel overwhelming in the face of such incidents.

Instead of wringing our hands in dismay, the District’s Diversity Discussion Group invites members of the school community to attend a Bystander Intervention training led by Asian Americans Advancing Justice of Chicago in partnership with Hollaback!
