District 90 Names Dr. Alison Hawley as Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Alison Hawley, Ed.D. has been selected as the new Director of Curriculum and Instruction for District 90. Dr. Hawley will begin in her role on July 1, following the resignation of long-time and well-regarded Director of Student Services, Martha Ryan-Toye.

Dr. Hawley was selected following an extensive search and interview process that involved stakeholder groups of faculty, staff, administrators, parents, and Board members. Prior to this position, she served as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for the Winnetka Public Schools in Winnetka, Ill. She holds a doctorate degree in educational leadership from National Louis University in Chicago and two masters’ degrees from Bank Street College of Graduate Education in New York, N.Y. One of her masters’ degrees is in educational supervision and administration and the other is in early adolescent education. Dr. Hawley received her bachelor’s degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash.

District 90 will host an open house to welcome Dr. Hawley to the River Forest community, with details about the event forthcoming in the near future.
