District 90 is hosting an Erin’s Law Parent Information Night on March 15 at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln School auditorium. The Illinois Legislature requires schools districts throughout the state to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness prevention curriculum for students in pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. This state mandate, also called Erin’s Law (House Bill 6193), aligns with the District 90’s Social Emotional Curriculum. This year, Linda Conway, Director of ISEARCH Safety Programs, will provide instruction related to Erin’s Law for all of our Kindergarten through Grade 8 students. ISEARCH is a personal safety curriculum for students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 8, and is supported by the Police Department of River Forest and the River Forest Township Youth Services. This Parent Information Night is an opportunity for Ms. Conway to answer any questions about Erin’s Law, the law’s implementation, and the curriculum for the sessions.
